Linux Engineer

The Polish branch, as the Global Delivery Center, operates in Katowice since 2007 and has been growing ever since. Currently, our team consists of around 1,000 specialists.

Within the Digital Platform Services department, our teams specialize in areas such as cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup or storage, as well as networking and security. We also have 1st line support consultants who speak French and English, but also Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German.

The Application Services department is responsible for areas such as software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM and ERP platform integrations, as well as application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.

We are looking for an experienced Linux Engineer to join Sopra Steria Polska for a team that cooperates with one of our Norwegian clients.

Note that we can only offer cooperation to people are located in Silesian area and are willing to commute to our office in Katowice.

Responsibilities:​

• Perform Linux server operations and routine maintenance
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to Linux servers and associated services
• Provide technical support to customers, addressing system-related issues
• Assist customers with performance analysis and optimization for Linux environments
• Plan and implement Linux server installations according to best practices
• Execute patching, migrations, and upgrades
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application operations, networking, virtualization, and security, to deliver integrated solutions

• Linux
• VMware
• Ansible
• Azure Linux VM

Must have requirements:​

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• Expertise in managing and maintaining Linux server environments across hybrid infrastructures
• Experienced in planning and implementing Linux server installations following best practices, as well as executing patching, migrations, and upgrades to maintain system integrity and security
• Adept at working in dynamic environments to ensure high availability and efficiency of mission-critical systems

• Microsoft AZ-104 Azure Administrator or similar within AWS, GCP or OCI
• ITIL Foundation or equivalent
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate / Similar for Ansible

Nice to have requirements:

• Ubiquiti UniFi Professional/Admin certification
• F5 Certified Administrator, BIG-IP

Other requirements:

• English B2 level
• Structured in operations and documentation 
• Customer-oriented, ensuring stable and responsive end-user experience 
• Team player, effective in cross-technology collaboration
• Proactive in identifying performance improvements and capacity needs
