A new dimension focused on development and competitiveness​

The Sopra Steria 2020 Project is launched to improve the Group's performance in all areas and increase its added value. The acquisition of CIMPA in October 2015 intensifies its presence in the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) market́. Following the acquisition of software publisher Cassiopae, finalized in January 2017, three new companies joined Sopra Steria in 2017: Kentor, 2MoRO and Galitt.​

During 2018, the Group acquired the German IT services company BLUECARAT to strengthen its positioning in Germany and to provide new growth opportunities for the local subsidiary, as well as Sword Apak to complete its Credit offering. In 2019, it makes two major advances in the Core Banking market: the acquisition of SAB and the partnership with Sparda-Bank in Germany, enabling it to build a digital platform for 7 German banks. At the end of 2019, Sopra Steria also strengthens its business and consolidates its strategy by launching its new digital transformation consulting brand, Sopra Steria Next.​

With the acquisition of Sodifrance in 2020, the Group creates a leader in digital services dedicated to the Insurance and Social Protection sector. In the UK, Sopra Steria acquires cxpartners, strengthening its expertise in user experience and ergonomic design. Finally, Fidor Solutions, the software subsidiary specializing in digital banking solutions for neo-bank Fidor Bank, joined the Group on December 31, 2020. Through this acquisition, Sopra Banking Software is significantly accelerating the pace of its development, in particular by increasing the number of use cases for its Digital Banking Engagement Platform (DBEP) offering.​

In 2021, Sopra Steria has strengthened its position with the acquisition of French cybersecurity firm EVA Group. This acquisition provides significant leverage to position Sopra Steria among the top three cybersecurity market leaders in France.​

Two other companies were acquired in 2021, the consulting firm specializing in digital service design EGGS Design, present in Norway's four main cities (Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger) as well as in Denmark (Copenhagen), and Labs, a Norwegian user experience consulting firm.​

Today, the Group is one of Europe's Top 5 players in digital transformation, providing a comprehensive response to the development and competitiveness challenges faced by major companies and organizations.

The birth of a new European leader in digital transformation​

Complementary in their businesses, strategic verticals and geographies, and sharing a similar corporate culture, the two players merge to create the Sopra Steria group.

Support for digital transformation​

The bursting of the Internet bubble in 2001 accelerated changes in the market́. Customers are looking for global players, able to support them as they transform their businesses.​

Steria has responded to these challenges with major, structuring acquisitions, such as the integration of Bull's services business in Europe in 2001, the acquisition of Germany's Mummert Consulting in 2005 and of Xansa, an expert in BPO (Business Process Outsourcing), in 2007.

Economic performance at the heart of our strategy​

Faced with a maturing IT services market, Sopra rethinks its fundamentals and refocuses on systems integration and software publishing. The Sopra group is floated on the stock exchange in 1990. Steria focuses on streamlining and industrializing processes to reorganize its functional structure. Steria's commercial success led to the company being floated on the stock exchange in 1999.​

Sopra combines internal and external growth to consolidate its European expansion and its core competencies: consulting, systems integration and solutions publishing. Axway, a subsidiary created from the merger of the Group's software infrastructure divisions, was floated on the stock market in 2011.

IT services to support company modernization​

Sopra and Steria are two distinct entities operating in the emerging IT services industry. Their common goal is to meet the needs of key accounts with innovative products and services. Sopra invests in software development and expands its market presence. At the same time, Steria wins several contracts in the public sector.
