Senior Virtualization Engineer with French

The Polish branch, as the Global Delivery Center, operates in Katowice since 2007 and has been growing ever since. Currently, our team consists of around 1,000 specialists.

Within the Digital Platform Services department, our teams specialize in areas such as cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup or storage, as well as networking and security. We also have 1st line support consultants who speak French and English, but also Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German.

The Application Services department is responsible for areas such as software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM and ERP platform integrations, as well as application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.

We are looking for a Senior Virtualization Infrastructure Engineer to join the Sopra Steria Polska team and contribute to a project for a leading French telecommunications company. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation and integration of on-premises virtualization infrastructures (private cloud) across a diversified core perimeter, including VMWARE HPE, VMWARE CISCO, OPENSHIFT Cisco, PureStorage, and NetApp. Note that we can offer cooperation only to people who are located in Poland.

Responsibilities:​

Run:

• Provide N2 support on the lab's bases, including corrective, scalable, and preventive maintenance for hardware and hypervisor layers, primarily on VMware and OpenShift Redhat environments.
• Handle incidents and provide L3 support for hosted business operators.
• Ensure resource availability (CPU, RAM, STORAGE).
• Open and follow up on incident tickets with suppliers.

Build/Project:

• Act as a technical referent and provide project support.
• Carry out operating requirements, including exploitation tools, supervision/monitoring, connection to easements (particularly security), and documentation.
• Participate in the configuration of the Virtualization platform (VMWare, OCP, etc.).
• Onboard new systems, including VM creation, VMware configurations, and connection to easements.
• Participate in the implementation of automation for integration activities.
• Validate Test/Project Specifications.

Must have requirements:​

• Mastery of VMware Virtualization Base management.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Knowledge of French and English (minimum B2 level).
• Solid knowledge in the operation of Information Systems and Virtualized Foundations.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux and Windows environments.
• Experience with supervision and metrology tools such as Zabbix and VROPS.
• Expertise in virtualization technologies, including VMWare 7.xx and 8.xx.
• Knowledge of network technologies, specifically NSX-T.
• Familiarity with tools like VRA, VRO, and VROPS.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and OpenShift.
• Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible.

Nice to have requirements:

• Experience in hardware integration (Cisco UCS servers, Pure Storage array, NetApp, etc.).
