Job Description

As a Data Platform Architect, you will design and oversee modern data platforms that support end-to-end data solutions. In close collaboration with other data experts (BI consultants, AI engineers, etc.) and client stakeholders, you will translate business and analytics requirements into scalable, future-proof data architectures.

You will be part of our Data Foundation practice: a team of data engineers and architects, within our Data & AI department. Looking beyond the sleek dashboards and hype-driven AI applications, we make sure that AI and BI initiatives are powered by a reliable and performant back end. Using proven components and best practices, we continuously challenge ourselves to design solutions tailored to our clients’ data needs, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and maintainability.

As a Data Platform Architect, you will design and oversee enterprise data solutions, leveraging modern technologies to align architecture with business strategy. Your responsibilities include the following:

  • Design and implement high-quality data solutions that create value for our clients.
  • Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams (data governance specialists, data strategists, cloud solution architects, etc.) to define data strategy, architect solutions, and develop roadmaps for delivering client data initiatives.
  • Assess existing data architectures, identify pain points and bottlenecks, and propose performance, efficiency, and scalability improvements.
  • Support internal team members and participate in knowledge sharing.
  • Take the technical lead in sales proposals and business development initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for client advisory.

Qualifications

We’re seeking motivated colleagues who are eager to engineer the best solutions for our clients and to be an active member of our team of experts. If you enjoy tackling complex technical problems and meet (most of) the qualifications below, we look forward to your application!

You’ll have knowledge and experience of the following:

  • At least 7 years of professional experience, preferably in consulting.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Data Architect.
  • Past experience as a data engineer, with hands-on experience with cloud & database technologies, ETL flows, distributed computing and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience in designing and implementing performant, scalable, reliable, and future-proof data solutions in cloud environments. For BI and/or ML/AI use cases.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. TOGAF certification is a plus.
  • Experience with assessing and optimizing existing architectures.
  • Experience with building data models and creating data flow diagrams.
  • Knowledge of data integration patterns (APIs, real-time, event-driven, etc.).
  • Experience in RFP response writing.
  • Experience with on-premises to cloud migrations.
  • Understanding of data management principles, and familiarity with frameworks like data mesh. CDMP certification is a plus.
  • Understanding of data governance, policies, standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and network architecture concepts (hub-and-spoke architecture, private access patterns, landing zones, etc.).
  • Aware of currently available technologies and upcoming data trends.
  • Strong communicative and interpersonal skills, bridging technical and business audiences while building strong client and team relationships.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, helping our team grow.
  • Able to balance multiple stakeholders, make pragmatic technical decisions and manage priorities.
  • Ability to lead workshops.
  • You are proficient in English and Dutch or French.
