Copernicus Data Processing Operations Engineer (m/w/d) [26171]

Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform and monitor routine data processing operations, including data ingestion, processing and distribution, and investigate and resolve operational anomalies.
• Support operations across different mission phases, including commissioning, ramp-up and routine operations.
• Monitor system performance and generate operational statistics, KPIs and reports.
• Contribute to anomaly management, investigation, documentation and resolution, including participation in relevant review boards and technical meetings.
• Develop, validate and maintain operational procedures, documentation and operational tools.
• Contribute to the automation and improvement of operational processes using scripting and database technologies.
• Support operational validation activities, including the preparation and execution of validation and test campaigns.
• Provide operational and contingency support, including on-call activities when required.
• Contribute to operations preparation and coordination with other technical teams and stakeholders.
• Provide technical expertise and training related to data processing operations.

Mandatory skills:

• University degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline.
• Professional experience with near-real-time, data-driven and automated systems.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
• Experience developing and maintaining operational procedures and configuration data.
• Experience with operational validation, integration and verification of data processing systems.
• Knowledge of scripting and database technologies, such as Python, Shell and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of computer networks, IT systems and IT security.
• Experience with configuration management and change control.
• Knowledge of ECSS standards.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.

Additional skills considered an asset:

• Experience with Earth Observation or meteorological data processing.
• Experience validating complex remote sensing data processing systems.
• Knowledge of spacecraft and/or ground segment operations.
• Experience with instrument data and product processing, particularly Level-0 to Level-2 products.
• Programming experience in C, C++ or IDL.
• Knowledge of quality control, calibration and validation processes.
