Within the Digital Platform Services department, our teams specialize in areas such as cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup or storage, as well as networking and security. We also have 1st line support consultants who speak French and English, but also Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German.

The Application Services department is responsible for areas such as software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM and ERP platform integrations, as well as application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.


Job Description

We are part of an international shared services team delivering infrastructure and database support to multiple external clients, primarily in France and Germany. Our focus is on ensuring secure, stable, and high-performing database environments across various industries.

We are looking for a proactive and solution-oriented Oracle Database Administrator who enjoys technical challenges, takes ownership of assigned activities, and is comfortable working in an international service delivery environment.

Note that we can only offer cooperation to people with EU citizenship who are located in Poland and are willing to commute to our office in Katowice or Gdańsk, Poland

The position operates within a two-shift schedule: 08:00–16:00, 10:00–18:00, plus on-call duties outside of business hours on a rotational basis, including weekly and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:​

  • Installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching Oracle database systems
  • Monitoring database availability, performance, capacity, and overall health
  • Performing regular database maintenance and optimization activities
  • Managing database users, roles, privileges, and security configurations
  • Implementing and validating backup and recovery solutions
  • Performing database restore and recovery operations
  • Supporting disaster recovery and business continuity tests
  • Troubleshooting database incidents, performance issues, and service disruptions
  • Performing root cause analysis and preparing technical recommendations
  • Supporting database migrations, including migrations from on-premises environments to cloud platforms
  • Automating recurring operational and administrative tasks
  • Maintaining technical documentation, operational procedures, and database inventories
  • Participating in change implementation and production support activities
  • Collaborating with infrastructure, operating system, network, application, security, and cloud teams
  • Participating in the on-call support rotation

Qualifications

Must have requirements:​

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, including support of production environments
  • Solid understanding of Oracle database architecture and hands-on experience with database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and day-to-day administration
  • Experience with Oracle backup, restore, and recovery operations, including RMAN
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate and resolve database incidents and performance issues
  • Good knowledge of SQL, Oracle administration utilities, and database security concepts (users, roles, and privileges)
  • Experience working with Linux/Unix operating systems and following operational, change management, and security procedures
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, enabling cooperation with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in an international environment
  • Professional level of English

Nice to have requirements:

  • Experience with public cloud platforms, especially AWS
  • Experience migrating databases from on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident, problem, and change management
  • Knowledge of additional database technologies, particularly PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB
