Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Governance Consultant to join our team in Nieuwegein, Netherlands. In this pivotal role, you will help our clients take control of their data and contribute significantly to their transition to data-driven work.

  • Advise clients on data challenges and help them implement effective data governance strategies
  • Develop and implement data management activities to ensure proper use and confidence in data
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including data owners, analysts, scientists, and architects
  • Guide organisations through the transition to data-driven work practices
  • Assess and improve data quality, security, and privacy measures
  • Create and maintain data governance frameworks and policies
  • Conduct data audits and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Provide training and support to staff on data governance best practices
  • Evaluate and recommend data governance tools and technologies
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of data governance initiatives

Qualifications

  • BSc or Mac degree in IT or a related field
  • minimum of 2,5 years of experience within the data domain
  • Strong knowledge of data organisation, processes, and governance principles
  • Expertise in data strategy, management, privacy, and security
  • Familiarity with the data management framework DMBOK
  • CDMP certification or willingness to obtain it
  • Proficiency in data quality management techniques
  • Understanding of data governance tools and technologies
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to data (e.g., GDPR)
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Practical attitude and ability to translate complex concepts into actionable plans
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
  • Experience working in a hybrid work environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to understand and address client needs

At Sopra Steria, we ensure you can do your job with joy and balance. That’s why we offer an attractive and flexible employment benefits package:

  • A permanent contract and a gross monthly salary between €3,000 and €6,000 (based on 40 hours per week). The exact amount depends on your experience and the role;
  • 8% holiday allowance;
  • A generous mobility budget, including options such as an electric lease car with an NS Business Card, a lease bike, or alternative transportation that best suits your travel needs;
  • 8% profit sharing on target (or a fixed OTB amount, depending on the role);
  • 27 paid vacation days;
