Job Description

Position: Snowflake - Senior Technical Lead
Experience: 8-11 years
Location: Noida/ Bangalore
Education: B.E./ B.Tech./ MCA

Primary Skills: Snowflake, Snowpipe, SQL, Data Modelling, DV 2.0, Data Quality, AWS, Snowflake Security

Good to have Skills: Snowpark, Data Build Tool, Finance Domain  

Preferred Skills

  1. Experience with Snowflake-specific features: Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks, Secure Data Sharing.
  2. Experience in data warehousing, with at least 2 years focused on Snowflake.
  3. Hands-on expertise in SQL, Snowflake scripting (JavaScript UDFs), and Snowflake administration.
  4. Proven experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Informatica, Talend, Matillion) and orchestration frameworks.
  5. Deep knowledge of data modeling techniques (star schema, data vault) and performance tuning.
  6. Familiarity with data security, compliance requirements, and governance best practices.
  7. Experience in Python, Scala, or Java for Snowpark development.
  8. Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related services (S3, ADLS, IAM)

Key Responsibilities

  1. Define data partitioning, clustering, and micro-partition strategies to optimize performance and cost.
  2. Lead the implementation of ETL/ELT processes using Snowflake features (Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe).
  3. Automate schema migrations, deployments, and pipeline orchestration (e.g., with dbt, Airflow, or Matillion).
  4. Monitor query performance and resource utilization; tune warehouses, caching, and clustering.
  5. Implement workload isolation (multi-cluster warehouses, resource monitors) for concurrent workloads.
  6. Define and enforce role-based access control (RBAC), masking policies, and object tagging.
  7. Ensure data encryption, compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and audit logging are correctly configured.
  8. Establish best practices for dimensional modeling, data vault architecture, and data quality.
  9. Create and maintain data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and governance standards.
  10. Partner with business analysts and data scientists to understand requirements and deliver analytics-ready datasets.
  11. Stay current with Snowflake feature releases (e.g., Snowpark, Native Apps) and propose adoption strategies.
  12. Contribute to the long-term data platform roadmap and cloud cost-optimization initiatives.
