Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Aviation)

The Polish branch, as the Global Delivery Center, operates in Katowice since 2007 and has been growing ever since. Currently, our team consists of around 1,000 specialists.

Within the Digital Platform Services department, our teams specialize in areas such as cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup or storage, as well as networking and security. We also have 1st line support consultants who speak French and English, but also Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German.

The Application Services department is responsible for areas such as software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM and ERP platform integrations, as well as application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the Sopra Steria Poland team responsible for responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a cloud platform based on AWS. The role focuses on defining standards, creating architecture, automation, and supporting development teams (Software Factory) in designing and deploying scalable, secure, and reliable cloud environments.
Within the Gdańsk-based team, you will act as a key expert developing globally significant solutions for our client’s products in the aviation industry.

Responsibilities:​

• Prepare and configure standard software environments.
• Set up customer integrations and manage associated data.
• Follow up with customers on migration progress, including weekly status calls.
• Provide integration support for both new and existing customers.
• Review, track, and approve Service Requests submitted to the contractor for server upgrades or new server builds.
• Create and maintain Configuration Management documentation for all customers.
• Implement SSO integrations for products that support this capability.
• Forecast hosting capacity and resource needs.
• Before handing over to Hosting Operations: support customer troubleshooting and analysis, including participation in technical calls related to hosting and integrations.
• Maintain the delivery status page to track “not yet live” customers and support other teams in directing escalations appropriately.

Windows/Linux, Docker, k8s, AWS, Gitlab, SonarQube, Jenkins, VMWare

Must have requirements:​

• System administration skills in Linux and Windows
• Virtual Machines, Public Cloud and Software deployment experience
• Network configuration and troubleshooting experience
• Working knowledge of networking, shell scripting, MySQL, MS SQL, DNS, XML and Networking
• Technical knowledge of web-based solutions
• Familiarity with API technologies (OAuth, HTTP RPCs, REST)
• Cloud Environment knowledge and/or experience would be a plus (AWS Associate, AWS Professional is a big plus)
• Enterprise backup and recovery procedures
• System performance monitoring tools
• Willing to visit to our office located in Katowice
• Fluent English: at least B2

The recruitment process for this position consists of two stages:
• a short phone call with a recruiter (30 min max)
• one-hour long interview on Teams (with both general and technical questions)

Salary range:
All information about salary range and its additional components will be provided during the 1st stage of recruitment process.
12 000-15 500 PLN gross/month
