Job Description

As part of a team you will provide training, deployment plans, coaching and expertise services to companies regarding the hardware functional safety standard applicable to their domain, such as ISO 26262 for automotive or IEC 61508 for safety-related systems.

 

Responsibilities:

Prepare and guide hardware safety analyses  DFMEA and FMEDA in accordance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 for complex HW components in view of improving the design and calculating the hardware metrics (Must have), more specifically, on an existing design.

  •  
  • Identify the HW-safety related components
  • Extract their failure modes, base failure rates and distribution from existing well trusted reliability standards as well as available safety documentation
  • Identify the relevant safety mechanisms and associated diagnostic coverage (DC)
  • Extract the relevant safety-related metrics such as SPFM, LFM and PMHF
  • Provide guidance on how to improve the safety hardware design
  • Perform gap analysis regarding the client current hardware development process and the applicable functional safety standard requirements.
  • Establish plans for compliance with the applicable functional safety standard.
  • Give guidance on how to perform hardware functional safety activities such as:
  • Work products development
  • Safety analysis (DFMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA)
  • Participate in technical discussion as part of business development efforts.
  • Perform reviews on functional safety work products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in safety-critical domains (automotive, aerospace, medical, nuclear).
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 or other similar safety standards: IEC 61508.
  • Experience in a position requiring excellent understanding of hardware using complex integrated circuits including their interaction with embedded software (definition of hardware software interface).
  • Full system, hardware, or software V development lifecycle experience (requirements, design, implementation, verification and testing).
  • Knowledge of project management and productivity tools such as MS Office, Jira
  • Knowledge of functional safety tool such as ANSYS Medini (must)
  • Curiosity, autonomy, pro-activity and ability to find innovative solutions and compromises.
