Job Description

Context

As part of a high‑scale European digital transformation programme, you will contribute to the deployment of a Clever Cloud platform in an on‑premise, air‑gapped environment within our data center.

This role focuses on ensuring the stability, security, automation and operational robustness of the platform, as well as its integration with existing technical environments.

You will be involved from Proof of Concept (PoC) through production rollout, within a highly secure and constrained infrastructure context.

Main Mission

Lead the technical deployment of the PoC, followed by the industrialisation and production rollout of the Clever Cloud platform.

You will be responsible for automation, supervision and long‑term operational maintenance of the core components, including KVM, Apache Pulsar, Nexus Repository and a customised operating system.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure

  • Install, configure and optimise physical servers, KVM hypervisor, and customised Linux operating systems
  • Ensure performance, availability and resilience of the on‑premise infrastructure

Automation & Orchestration

  • Design, develop and maintain automation scripts and API agents for virtual resource orchestration
  • Contribute to Infrastructure as Code practices using Ansible, Terraform and scripting languages (Python and/or Go)

Network & Security

  • Design and implement an isolated (air‑gapped) network architecture
  • Configure firewall rules and secure internal data flows (Pulsar, Nexus)
  • Apply system hardening and security best practices

Image & Repository Management

  • Administer Nexus Repository: storage, versioning, lifecycle management and deployment of “gold images”

Operational Integration

  • Integrate the platform with existing operational processes:
    • Monitoring
    • Backup
    • Incident and problem management
  • Contribute to operational readiness and platform stability validation

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Produce technical documentation (runbooks, deployment and operating guides)
  • Support knowledge transfer to operational and support teams

Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in KVM/QEMU and Linux (lightweight or customised distributions)
  • Proven experience with automation and orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform)
  • Development or scripting experience in Python and/or Go
  • Hands‑on experience with Apache Pulsar and Nexus Repository
  • Solid understanding of air‑gapped architectures
  • Knowledge of distributed storage solutions (Ceph, GlusterFS)
  • Experience with system hardening and secure environments

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure (e.g. priority incident handling)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Pedagogical mindset for documentation and knowledge sharing
  • High level of rigor in operational procedures and documentation management

Expected Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in system administration and/or virtualisation
  • Experience with on‑premise cloud platform deployments (Clever Cloud, OpenStack or equivalent)
  • Experience in sensitive or regulated environments is a strong advantage

Additional Assets

  • Familiarity with European institutional or large‑scale infrastructure environments
  • Security certification (e.g. ISO 27001) or experience with security and compliance audits

Working Environment

  • Agile team, with ad‑hoc coordination (no fixed weekly meetings)
  • Technically demanding environment with high security and availability requirements
  • Strong focus on automation, reliability and documentation
