As an Application Support Engineer, you are responsible for resolving application and system issues that occur at the customer site. You respond quickly when technical problems arise unexpectedly and require immediate resolution. In doing so, you combine your business skills with your technical IT knowledge.
Additionally, you will:
- Provide on-site IT support for production and laboratory systems at both the Geel and Beerse sites
- Troubleshoot hardware and network issues
- Support and implement label printers, scales, and analytical equipment in collaboration with external vendors
- Deliver 2nd and 3rd line application and end‑user support
- Work in accordance with GxP guidelines and ITIL principles
- Contribute to building and maintaining a knowledge base to ensure long-term knowledge sharing and support
- Play a proactive role in optimizing processes and ensuring compliance requirements
- Participate in a 24/7 standby rotation schedule

You have knowledge and experience in the following:
- You have an associate degree in IT or equivalent through experience
- You have 2–3 years of experience in IT Support / Application Support
- You have broad (all‑round) IT skills and you learn new applications quickly
- You can explain complex ideas to people with limited technical knowledge
- You have a good understanding of information systems within an organization
- You have strong analytical skills and learn quickly
- You have a passion for customer experience
- You can work independently as well as in a team
- Experience with custom‑made applications is a plus
- Knowledge of server management is a plus
- Fluent in Dutch, English, and basic knowledge of French

Additionally, you’ll join the Business Line DPS (Digital Platform Services). DPS operates in the industrial, life sciences, public and finance sectors and is focused on core IT, from the front-end to the backend of business platforms. With our services, we ensure the continuity of processes and optimize customers' IT strategy, so they benefit from technological capabilities, control their costs and make platforms current and profitable.
You will specifically be part of a team of 4 on-site support engineer and you will be working alongside our managed staffing team and a central backup engineer. Planning is managed collaboratively within the team. Stand-by coverage outside office hours is ensured through an established escalation flow. You will serve as the local point of contact for users, with escalation paths to central IT when needed.
